About the Speakers

Skip Fox

Charles D. "Skip" Fox IV is a partner in the Charlottesville office of McGuireWoods LLP and the former chair of the firm’s Tax and Employee Benefits Department and Private Wealth Services Industry Group. Skip concentrates his practice in estate planning, estate administration, trust law, and charitable organizations. 

Skip has been on the faculty of the American Bankers Association’s National Trust School and National Graduate Trust School since 1987. He was an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University School of Law where he taught from 1983 to 2005 and has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Virginia School of Law since 2006. He speaks extensively around the country on estate planning topics and is the co-presenter of the long-running monthly teleconference series on estate planning and fiduciary law issues sponsored by the American Bankers Association.

Skip has contributed articles to numerous publications. He is the author or co-author of seven books on estate planning topics.  Skip is a Fellow and a former President of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Skip received his A.B. from Princeton, his M.A. from Yale, and his J.D. from the University of Virginia.  Skip’s wife, Beth, is a retired trust officer and they have two sons, Quent and Elm.

  • Kyle Irvin
  • Kyle Irvin is the Senior Trust Counsel and Trust Officer for Security National Bank’s Wealth Management Department. Kyle joined the Bank at the beginning of 2020 following a successful career as an attorney at the Corbett Anderson Law Firm in Sioux City where he practiced for 15 years primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, corporations and real estate. Kyle has spoken at over 25 seminars for lawyers and CPAs across the region during his career and has successfully handled cases in both the Iowa Supreme Court and Nebraska Supreme Court.

    Kyle is on the Board Directors for the Iowa Academy of Trust and Estate Counsel (IATEC) and is a Fellow with the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). Kyle is a past president of the Iowa State Bar Association’s Probate and Trust Section and the Siouxland Estate Planning Council. As Senior Trust Council and Trust Officer, Kyle utilizes his legal knowledge to help his clients reach their goals. 

    Kyle knows at Security National Bank everything matters and that is why he emphasizes collaborative work with families and other professionals to achieve a positive legacy transition for clients through all stages of life. In his spare time he enjoys hiking in the National Parks with his wife and daughters and serving as an adjunct instructor at Briar Cliff University, South Dakota State University, and the University of South Dakota School of Law.
