Experience: 1 year private accounting/auditing experience before joining the Wealth Management Division. 15 years portfolio management. 

John Koupal

Education: Graduate, Dakota State University, B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and Finance. Certified as a Qualified 401(k) Administrator by the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries.

Experience: 7 years of experience in the Commercial Services area before joining the Wealth Management Division as Wealth Management Advisor. 15 years experience in Employee Benefit Management. 

Cindy Schubert

Senior Vice President of Operations and Information Officer 

Education: Graduate, Southwest State University, B.S. in Business Administration with a Finance Concentration and Minor in Accounting.

Experience: 13 years as Mortgage Operations Supervisor and 2 years as Commercial Services Manager before joining Wealth Management Division as Operations Officer.

Gina Sitzmann

Vice President and Trust Officer 

Education: Graduate, Briar Cliff College, B.A. Psychology. Graduate National Trust School, Certified Trust & Financial Advisor, and an Accredited Estate Planner®.

Member: Siouxland Estate Planning Council, Inc., Planned Giving Council of Siouxland, State of IA Leave a Legacy, National Association of Planned Giving, National Association of Estate Planners and Council.

Experience: 2 years in Personnel, 2 years in Auditing before joining the Wealth Management Division; 22 years in Estate, Tax, Pension & Trust Account Management.


CFA® - Chartered Financial Analyst

The CFA designation is offered by the CFA Institute (formerly the Association for Investment Management and Research). To obtain the CFA charter, individuals must demonstrate competency in economics, accounting, security analysis, and money management. Candidates are required to successfully complete three difficult exams over three years, gain at least three years of qualifying work experience, and meet standards of professional and ethical conduct. CFA charterholders most often have an extensive background in economics and investments and are competent at a high level of analysis.

CFP® - Certified Financial Planner®

Individuals with the CFP® designation have passed a demanding exam which covers all facets of financial planning, including investments, individual and estate taxes, insurance, retirement planning and estate planning. A CFP must have completed college and three years of financial industry experience. CFPs agree to abide by a strict code of conduct and ethics.

CRPC® - Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor®

The CRPC ®program is developed with a focus on client-centered problem solving. Applicants gain in-depth knowledge of individuals' needs both before and after retirement. The study program to become a CRPC covers the entire retirement planning process, including meeting multiple financial objectives, sources of retirement income, personal savings, employer-sponsored retirement plans, income taxes, retirement cash flow, asset management, estate planning and more.

CTFA - Certified Trust and Financial Advisor 

The Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) certification is the professional credential for financial services professionals whose primary function and expertise focus on the provision of fiduciary services related to trusts, estates, guardianships and individual asset management accounts.

JD - Juris Doctor

The JD degree is professional degree granted by law schools for completing a three year course of post-undergraduate study of the law. Generally, completion of a JD must be followed by passing the bar exam in one or more jurisdictions in order to be permitted to practice law. Attorneys often have extensive training in fields of tax and estate planning.

MBA - Master of Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a master's degree in business administration.

QKA - Qualified 401(k) Administrator

The QKA credential is conferred by the American Society of Pension Professional & Actuaries to retirement plan professionals who work primarily with 401(k) plans. QKA’s have successfully completed a series of exams and have a minimum of two years related industry experience.

AEP - Accredited Estate Planner

The AEP designation is awarded by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC) to professionals who meet stringent experience and education qualifications, including two graduate level courses administered by The American College. Must be an attorney, CLU, CPA, CTFA, ChFC or CFP.
