About the Speakers
Kristine Tidgren
Director of the Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation, Iowa State University
Kristine Tidgren is an adjunct associate professor in the Agricultural Education & Studies Department and the director for the Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation. Kristine’s work focuses on studying and interpreting laws impacting the agricultural industry. In particular, she focuses on agricultural taxation. Since joining the center in 2013, Kristine has written hundreds of articles and blogposts to keep tax professionals, practicing attorneys, producers, and agribusiness professionals informed about legal developments impacting their business. She also writes technical chapters for the National Income Tax Workbook and articles for farm publications. In addition to her writing, Kristine speaks to many professionals and producers each year regarding tax and agricultural law topics. She also plans and provides instruction for CALT-hosted seminars, including the annual federal income tax schools.
Kristine teaches AgEds 451, a four-credit agricultural law class to upper-level undergraduate students in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She also regularly collaborates with other agricultural law and tax professionals throughout the country, including those from the Rural Tax Education Committee, the American Agricultural Law Association, and the Land Grant University Tax Education Foundation. Kristine is licensed to practice law in Iowa and Missouri and is a member of the Iowa Bar Association. Before coming to ISU, Kristine worked for a legal publishing company and as a practicing attorney. Kristine earned her BA in Journalism at Iowa State University, and she received her J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Texas at Austin.

Kevin Clausen
Principal - John Stewart and Associates
Kevin Clausen joined JSA in 2020 and opened the Anthon, Iowa corporate office. Kevin has been involved with agriculture his entire life, growing up on a grain and livestock farm in northwest Iowa where he still farms and feeds cattle today. Kevin and his wife Jaclynn are both originally from the Anthon area and have two high school aged children.
Kevin Clausen is a registered Associated Person of John Stewart and Associates and principal in the company. He specializes in risk management and futures brokerage for Commercial clients across the United States in all sectors of production agriculture.

Dennis Reyman, AFM, ARA
Partner, Stalcup Agricultural Service
Dennis Reyman is a partner in Stalcup Agricultural Service in Storm Lake. He’s been involved in farm management, appraisal, and real estate sales since 1993. He’s appraised several thousand farms across the region, has managed farms in 17 counties, and has sold farms in 18 counties. He’s a native of Woodbury County, is a graduate of Morningside College, and lives and farms near Correctionville. He attained his Accredited Farm Manager and Accredited Rural Appraiser designations through the American Society of Farm Managers & Rural Appraisers and served as the organization’s national president in 2020/2021.

Karrie Hruska, J.D., AEP®
Vice President - Wealth Management & Senior Trust Counsel
Karrie Hruska is the Vice President and Senior Trust Counsel within the Security National Wealth Management division. She is a graduate of the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and she received her Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, the Northern District of Iowa, and the Court of Federal Claims. Additionally, she holds the Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) designation and is an active member of the Iowa Academy of Trusts and Estates Council.
