One of the biggest hesitations toward buying a new car is, of course, the price. But if you shop at the right time, purchasing a vehicle can be more affordable than you might think.
And when it comes to buying a new car, this just might be the most wonderful time of the year.
When’s the best time to buy a new car?
According to Autotrader.com, the best time to buy a new car is at the end of … any period. Whether it’s the end of the year, the month or even the day, you can expect to receive a better offer if you shop during the end of a period rather than the beginning or middle. Take a closer look:
- End of the day: After a full day of work, car salesmen may be ready to go home and in a rush to make a sale. You can take advantage by requesting a price that the salesmen may have been less willing to accept at the beginning of the day.
- End of the month: Salesmen generally have to fill quotas, and if they are short of meeting their monthly goals, they might offer a better final price to ensure that they reach those marks.
- End of the year: Every fall, car dealers start to receive newer models on their lots. To make room for this new inventory, they often need to reduce their numbers of the previous year’s models, and they offer larger discounts to entice customers to take a closer look.
By going in to the dealership at the end of the day, near the end of the month and looking at last year’s models at the end of the year, you might be able to find something that won’t stretch your budget.
