At Security National Bank we care about our culture. Going to work each day should be fulfilling professionally and personally. We strive to make sure our employees do more than merely show up each day and sit behind a computer screen. We might be a little biased, but if you’re looking for a job in Sioux City that is professionally rewarding, challenging with room to grow, and with a company that boasts a great culture - we recommend you check out Security National Bank.

Working at Security National Bank

Whether you’re looking for a new job with a change of pace, or for something industry specific such as a bank teller job, we are looking for committed individuals to join our team. Never worked in the industry before? Let us walk you through the ins and outs of working in a bank.

What’s it like working at a bank?

At SNB, we think it’s fun, challenging and exciting. Much of your experience working at a bank depends on your role. If you’re looking for bank teller jobs, you will be actively engaged with customers as you help them with their day to day banking needs. Getting hired as a bank teller usually requires a high school diploma, along with experience handling money or working in customer service. Teller is a great starting position if you want to start a career in banking.

At SNB, we are often hiring loan officers as well. Loan officers (or lenders) may meet with individuals or with corporate/business clients to discuss their financial history and assist with filling out loan applications. The job of the lender is to advise the loan applicant as they complete the process, and serve as the liaison between the applicant and the financial institution. If you like to guide people as they take on big decisions, and help others succeed, you are a great candidate to be a loan officer. Becoming a lender sometimes requires a college degree and some previous lending experience, depending on which clients you'll be working with.

These are just a few of the positions available at banks like SNB. Just like most companies, we also have openings in management, operations, customer service and more. If you’re looking for a job in Sioux City, Security National Bank has a wide range of positions for people of varying skill sets.

Step Into the Security National Bank Office

Now that you know a little bit about the available bank jobs, find out what sets SNB apart from other banks. To motivate our employees, each year, the marketing department holds a themed sales contest to encourage employees to refer their friends and family to SNB. The winner of the contest gets a grand prize -- last year it was a travel voucher to Nashville! Last year’s theme was “Music Decades”, celebrating a different music decade each quarter. The second quarter was “70’s music”, which led to this roller boogie video.

We also have Business Casual Friday every week, because we want you to feel comfortable as you get ready for the weekend! Need some fresh air? Step on out to the mini-park for lunch, and a great opportunity to catch up with your co-workers.

In addition to the fun perks, we believe in treating our employees right through compensation and benefits packages. Our operating hours allow for work-life balance. Many of our positions simply require a high school diploma to start, and with room to grow, there are great opportunities to advance your career. We offer comprehensive benefits packages including medical, dental, short term disability, long term disability and life insurance. Our benefits also include a 401(k) program, paid time off and a wellness program.

Maybe you don’t believe us just yet, but we invite you to step into a year in the life of an SNB employee. We promise, we’ve got a lot to offer!

Looking For a Job in Sioux City? Here are 12 Reasons it Should be at Security National Bank

We Celebrate You

Each March, we honor our hardworking employees and thank them for their commitment to Security National Bank during our annual awards banquet. This event gives us an opportunity to thank employees who go above and beyond in delivering excellent service and recognize those who are celebrating notable anniversaries with SNB. As an SNB employee, each year you’ll be able to look forward to the fun of the annual awards banquet.

Did someone say Giant Jenga?

We celebrate your hard work with fun times, good food and recognition. Each year we say thank you to our employees by partaking in employee appreciation week. Last year, our employees took some time off to enjoy some lattes — on us — and play giant Jenga!

Company Culture that Appreciates Customers

Thanking our customers is just as important as thanking our employees. We can’t do it without them! Throughout the year, we host customer appreciation events to show our gratitude for everyone who chooses Security National Bank. From our summer “Grillin’ and Chillin” customer appreciations to our annual Veterans Day coffee event, our employees love the opportunity to interact with customers one-on-one and outside of the usual scope of work.

May the Best SNB Employee Win

We believe a little friendly competition livens up the work day, so every now and then we host tournaments for our employees like last year’s “bean bag toss” competition. Enter to prove your cornhole prowess, and maybe you’ll take home a great prize or, at the very least, bragging rights. Over the years we’ve seen some incredibly close matches and our Sioux City team members love getting outside for a good time.

Hawkeyes, Cyclones And Cornhuskers Welcome at SNB

Whether you’re loyal to Iowa State, a die hard Iowa fan, or even a Nebraska Cornhusker fan, we’d love to have you join our team in Sioux City. If you’re missing college just a little, find a job in Sioux City that will let you show your school pride - like SNB. For us, the Iowa vs. Iowa State and Nebraska vs. Iowa games are practically holidays. You’ll see us kindly giving each other trouble and sporting our favorite colors around the office.

SNB is Poppin’

If you love popcorn, then head on over to our careers page! Not every day is a celebration, but we like to make the normal days feel special, too — like that time we turned our on-site cafeteria into a popcorn bar, just to say thank you to our hardworking employees

Sharing Sweet Treats

Every good office includes some delicious food (and it’s sure looking like a common theme at our office). As the weather gets cooler, we warm up with an employee bake-off. The aroma of pies, cookies and brownies fill the cafeteria. If you don’t like to bake, don’t worry, you can judge!

SNB Fall United Way Campaign

Every fall, SNB employees team up to donate money to Siouxland United Way. We host a big kickoff meeting with a theme and encourage all employees to give. Last year we achieved 100% participation and employees were rewarded by wearing jeans to work, which we call United Way Jeans Day! We are one of Siouxland’s biggest United Way supporters, and were named a Major Business of the Year in 2017.

Spread the Joy PB&J Drive

Every November, SNB hosts a “Spread the Joy” food drive to collect peanut butter and jelly for local food banks. These items are some of the most expensive for food banks to buy, yet both are staple food items. Last year, we broke our record by raising over 4,500 pounds of peanut butter and jelly.

SNB Gets in the Holiday Spirit by Serving Others

According to Elf, the best way to spread holiday cheer is singing loud for all to hear. At SNB, we think that giving back spreads holiday cheer better than anything. Just like having fun is a part of our culture, community service is another fundamental element of who we are.

Last year, for our Winter Wonder project, we invited families to enjoy a movie on us, but the real excitement was the surprise gifts we purchased for each child. Before they went into the movie, all the kids were able to sit on Santa’s lap and tell Santa what they wanted for the holidays. Then, after the movie, their Christmas wish came true when they received the gift they asked for. This project was as magical for us as it was for the kids.

Eat, Drink and Be Merry For the Holidays

Each December, we host a special holiday party to provide an opportunity for our team to get together in the spirit of the holidays. The holidays are about spending time with people and sharing good food (and racing your co-workers to open Christmas presents with oven mitts on).

Expressing Our Gratitude with Holiday Gifts

To top off our Holiday events, we say thank you each holiday season with a special end-of-year gift that every employee gets to choose. Whether you pick the family prime rib dinner, or the latest electronic gadget for yourself (last year’s Roku Streaming Device was a hit), it’s just another way the Bank likes to say “thank you” for a fantastic year.

We think our culture is pretty fun and if you’re searching for jobs in the Sioux City area, we encourage you to add SNB to your list.

How to Get a Job at Security National Bank

If SNB sounds like the Sioux City job you’ve been looking for, we’re going to let you in on a few tips about how to get hired. For one, be prepared for a career, not just a job. At SNB, we have a history of employees who stick around because they feel professionally fulfilled and thoroughly enjoy the culture.

While you’re making a home for yourself at SNB, always remember to put your best foot forward. We believe in promoting from within, because we want to cultivate talent. If you are dedicated, we will take notice and invest in your future with us. In addition to the opportunity for advancement, we also offer the opportunity for professional development. We encourage our employees to keep learning and we offer some great opportunities to help them do so including conferences, networking events and more.

One of the pillars of SNB we are most proud of is our community involvement. We are community stewards and have always been throughout our rich history. We are ingrained in the Sioux City community, from United Way contributions, to sponsoring little league teams and surprising families with their Christmas wishes. If you are looking for a culture of service, you will fit right in.
