Security National Bank Announces New Officers

Karrie Hruska is the new Vice President and Senior Trust Counsel within the Wealth Management division. In her role, Karrie will provide legal guidance and oversight to the division while consulting with clients on trust and estate planning matters. Karrie has been in the private practice of law for over 24 years and is transitioning from a successful career as a partner at a local law firm.  Her practice focused primarily on the areas of estate planning, probate, trust administration, and general business matters. She is a graduate of the University of South Dakota with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law. Hruska is a licensed attorney in Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa, and the United States Court of Federal Claims.

Hruska is a member of the Siouxland Estate Planning Council and the Iowa Academy of Trust and Estates Council and has an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) designation. In the community, she is a member of the LaunchPad Children’s Museum Board of Directors, President of the Sioux City Sports Commission and Sustainer Co-Director for the Junior League of Sioux City. 

Hallie Salmen is a new Trust Officer within the Wealth Management division where she will help individuals, non-profits, and businesses on a variety of financial matters including financial planning, trust administration, retirement options, and investments. Prior to joining Security National Bank, she had 27 years of financial experience after serving as CFO and CEO at a local business.

Salmen graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Business with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. She has held her CPA license for 23 years. 

Salmen is also active in the community. She is a volunteer at her local library, the Food Bank of Siouxland and the Siouxland Soup Kitchen and is a Board member for the St. Patrick’s Endowment Fund. She is also a member of the Siouxland Estate Planning Council.  She previously served as a board and finance committee member for LeadingAge IA and was a part of the Hospice of Siouxland Advisory Board and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s planning committee.
