SNB Receives United Way Award

Security National Bank Named United Way's "Major Business of the Year"

August 25, 2020

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Security National Bank is honored to announce it has received the United Way of Siouxland’s “Major Business of the Year” Leadership Award, in recognition of SNB’s philanthropic efforts in the community.

The award was announced on Aug. 20 at United Way of Siouxland’s annual campaign kickoff event, which was held at the Siouxland Expo Center (and virtually for those who couldn’t attend in person).

This marks the second time that Security National Bank has received the United Way honor, since it was established four years ago. The Major Business of the Year goes to a local organization that employs 50 or more people, and demonstrates a high level of employee giving and volunteering in the Siouxland community.

“We know our Bank is only as strong as the community it serves,” said Executive Vice President Jeremy Craighead, who was on hand to receive the award on behalf of all Security National Bank employees. “This honor reflects the culture of service and giving that is embodied by all of us at SNB. Especially during these challenging times, it’s important that we work together and keep doing everything we can to provide support to the people in our community who need it most.”

Since its inception in 1964, the United Way of Siouxland has provided grants for collaborative projects and outcome-based programs that address the core needs of the community. From feeding the hungry to protecting the abused, United Way works together with area individuals, neighborhoods and businesses to strengthen its local impact.

Not only did 100 percent of Security National Bank’s employees donate to the United Way last year, but several employees also volunteered on a personal level, serving on several United Way committees and boards; while also supporting other community clubs, youth programs and non-profit organizations.
